Chapel Law Group and co-counsel Cyrus Dashtaki secured a $1 million judgment for Charles Harris, a former Missouri Department of Corrections employee, on claims of race discrimination and retaliation under the Missouri Human Rights Act.

On February 22, 2024, the Circuit Court of Cole County entered judgment awarding $750,000 in compensatory damages and $250,000 in punitive damages after a bench trial on damages. The Missouri Court of Appeals, Western District, later dismissed the Department’s appeal and granted Harris reasonable attorney fees for the appeal.
