Congressional Fairness Litigation

The Missouri NAACP continues its public-interest advocacy and litigation concerning Missouri’s mid-decade congressional redistricting. The organization has challenged the extraordinary legislative session that produced new congressional boundaries even though no new federal census, federal reapportionment, or court order required Missouri to redraw the maps adopted in 2022.

The dispute concerns more than political advantage. Dividing Kansas City among multiple congressional districts can dilute the ability of Black voters and established communities to elect responsive representatives, preserve meaningful political representation, and hold public officials accountable.

Important distinction: This public-interest litigation and fundraising are undertaken through the Missouri NAACP. The Congressional Fairness Fund is not a Chapel Law Group client fund, and a contribution does not purchase legal services, create an attorney-client relationship, or affect legal representation.
